Peace Making Women
The women’s bible study I just joined at our new church is reading through the book “Peace Making Women”. I cannot recommend it enough! I’m going to make it a goal to share on my blog each week the highlights I’ve picked up. Don’t have time right now because Shea is waking from his nap, but I will share soon. One thing I did want to share is that Tara Barthel, one of the authors of this book has a blog that I just discovered through two of my friends. It’s really worth checking out. And, please check out this video that she posted today. Such a picture of the gospel and community as it should be!

This is amazing. and you are right…such a clear picture of the gospel.
Isn’t that awesome?! I love it!
Dear Lyra,
I found your blog through Emily’s! I love this video I was crying and crying! It is such a picture of the gospel! It is awsome, I sent to friends. I too found Tara’s blog she is so refreshing and the book is so grounded in Gods will for us as women. I love you blog and I love Trader Joes! See you Sunday! Love, Beth Lloyd
How fun! I found you through the silliest way … but what a kind and encouraging post, Lyra! Thanks SO much.
Also–I wanted to tell you that we LOVE St. Louis! Tried to move there, even. Honeymooned there (sort of–long story).

Sophie and I are coming to Peoria in a couple of weeks–I’ll be thinking of you and your sweet family too.
Anyway–I’ve had a terrible day and your blog was a sweet encouragement to me. Thanks for your ministry!
Your sister in Christ,
Tara B.
Beth, I’m so sorry I somehow just came across your comment. I’m usually alerted when people post, but somehow you got past me! So glad you enjoyed the video. It really ministered to me, too. See you Sunday. Missed seeing you tonight!
Tara,
You just made my day! Well, actually more like my year! I’m so excited to have you visit my blog AND leave a comment. And, I’m so glad that my blog was an encouragement to you today. I love reading your blog and I want to thank you for your ministry. God is using you in mighty ways.
We actually moved from Bloominton/Normal, IL, so we are very familiar with Peoria. And, yes, we LOVE St. Louis. I am going to be so spoiled when we leave here b/c there are so many free things to do! If you ever make it to St. Louis, I’d love to get together!
And, I’d love to hear the silly way you came across my blog!
I hope your day is better tomorrow!
