Thad says that as long as Jared is wearing hemp he can have shaggy hair… hahaha! I think it looks good.. He should leave it the way it is. It looks good for fall like weather.

Well, I still like it, even though you took mug shots of him! Gosh L-dog, make him pose sexy or something, like the lead singer in a band, like his hair makes him look. As I said before, a long as he keeps the style of dress to match his hair, I think it still looks great! Mess it up a little though…unless, of course, the mug shots make it look combed down.

And, yes, Emily, I guess I could have taken some better shots, but I didn’t want there to be any distraction from the subject at hand. Okay, so come on, everyone else…..tell us what you think. And, don’t be afraid you’re going to offend. Jared, as many of you know, is not easily offended! Oh, and yes, Mandy, I have to agree on the first one. And, I’ll have to add that he looks like a scolded puppy dog in the second one.

Ok Jared. I think we”re going to have to go with CUT IT PLEASE. You’re starting to look like Hayward. Seriously, we think the shorter hair style we all know and love is much more attractive on you. It makes you look younger too. That’s our vote but we really would like to say -ask your wife what she likes. Her vote should be worth 1million!

You look like one of the Beattles or maybe a character in one of those 60’s or 70’s era biblical movies. You need to buzz cut it, shave off all the facial hair except a go-tee. Sorry man, you said be honest. I bought a pair of clippers for $9.99 about 3.5 years ago. They have payed for themselves probably 50 times by now!!!! Good luck.
I vote to go ahead and cut it like Gallagher, he’s a funny guy. OK, not really…have you ever thought about a mowhawk? Longer hair in the fall and winter is nice, and it gets pretty cold up there. Definitely go with what you and Lyra like best.

I LOVE your hair. Keep it by all means. Take it from an older person, your hear will disappear all on its own some day, so enjoy it while you have it.

Jared, forget the whole majority rules. When has the majority ever wanted what is right throughout history? Very rarely. Also, think about what you mom would say. This is much more likely to produce a good solution. The current length is not much of a problem, but do not let it grow much longer. And speaking as a man who does very little to care for his hair, comb it daily and don’t go for the shaggy look. I do not know what people mean by “sexy”, but come on, leave that for Lyra. God only knows that I care very little about hair styles, there are times when I haven’t even owned a comb, but as a Presbyterian we are to do everything with decency and in good order. Hopefully, you will withdraw your vow to submit to majority and come back to reason. Your brother in law, Mike

Dude, cut it like no tomorrow! Cut your losses and run! Cut a rug! (Director says) Cut! Cut the grass! Get electrolysis! Sorry, I got carried away and that one just sort of came out. As a guy who suffers from defective hair I have gone through many different hair styles (see http://www.jjshelleyfamily.blogspot.com - look for the “Wanted!” pic) and find that the short cut seems to go best with skydiving hair syndrome. Besides, asyou get older, you’ll just look like one of those bald guys with a comb-over. And no one wants that. Just sad, that.
I would vote yes, go for the trim. Clay lets his hair get a bit long, and I never notice because, well, he’s my husband and I don’t really notice his hair because I’m just trying to get him through seminary and to help me get the kids to bed (does he even have hair, she asks herself)… anyway, even though the younger crowd can make do with longer hair, I think the family guys look like they’re trying to hide, um, a receding hairline. Not that that applies to your husband… I hardly know you two! (Lyra, I think we went together with Megan to her in-law’s farm last year.)
I kind of like his hair with some length on it, but not too much. I especially like the front view. I don’t think it would look good any longer. It looks clean and neat this length, but any longer he would look more like the hippies in my generation (60’s) - and I didn’t even like the long shoulder length hair on guys then!!!
Good to hear from all of you! And, yes, Aunt Jeanine, I do agree that it doesn’t need to grow shoulder length! And, Renae, I can totally relate to your input! Sometimes he trims his beard, very noticeably, and I don’t notice for days. It’s interesting to me that most of the votes for “cut it” are coming from people who have known Jared the longest. So, come on people! I know there are lots who have not voted! What do you think?

Ok, since I wiped your bottom when you were a baby, I get a significant vote here, but I am sure you already know what I would say…. of course, CUT IT! You look like Daddy’s 70s pictures..and the bald spot looks like it might be appearing as well. I think you are spending way too much time in front of the mirror …like, don’t you think you have anything better to do? This must be the result of that bottle of apricot brandy!
I vote that you enjoy the hair as it is now, and then eventually cut it.
Hair is fun! Color it, highlight it, put it in a ponytail… and then eventually cut it all off and go back to a dull and dreary existence. The beauty of hair is that it’s ever-changing. It’s not like a tattoo or something much more permanent. 
While you’re at it, get your ear pierced! That would be fun too. Before ya’ know it, you’ll look like a pirate… or a Hobbit…

Cut it brother. Short requires less maintenence and is always in vogue. Besides short eliminates the vanity thing of over concern about your looks. Sad but true our culture pays attention to how we look and long hair is offensive to some that you may be attempting to minister to.

Elizabeth! Thanks for your input. And, yes, I agree, he does look like Shaggy! Unfortunately, he is not playing fair and has refused to cut it so far. But, the votes to cut far outweighed the votes to leave it alone. Oh, well. We’ll see what happens. I learned a long time ago that I can’t make him do anything! Love you, Elizabeth!
