Irritability

I have found myself to be extremely irritable today, and I think I know why.  My 9 year old son has been stuck inside the house for 3 or 4 days straight now.  I’ve lost track at this point.  He’s facing the consequences of wasting LOTS and LOTS of time completing his school work, and he finally realized that he would prefer to get outside and actually have a life apart from us.  I love my kid, but space is desperately needed, especially when you have a kid as intense as our Gage.  In less than 30 minutes, my child will be outdoors, where he so desperately needs to be, and I CAN’T WAIT!!!!!!!

Your blog helps in unexpected ways. One in which was quite helpful yesterday morning.

The last time I looked at your blog I laughed at the coincidence (sp?) that Shae and Caleb had the same shoes even though miles away, I could even feel connected to you through our boys shoes:)

Well, yesterday Caleb refused to put on his shoes. He wanted to put on a pair of older shoes (of course since we were in a hurry and the other shoe was no where to be found) and was insistent that he wanted to wear only those shoes. Then the picture of Shae’s shoes came into my head, and I was able to say, “Hey, Caleb do you know who has shoes like these (the ones pictured and the ones we had at home that we could find two of:) Shae! (His eyes grew big and bright!) These are cool shoes…” “Yea!” He said “These are cool shoes!” And happily put on the shoes and headed out the door!

Thanks for displaying the pictures in the midst of your irratibility and for decreasing mine. You are a great friend!

That is hilarious! Well, it makes sense that our boys would have the same shoes. We both have great taste! LOL! I’m so glad that my blog came in handy in such an unexpected way! Good thinking, Mom! That was a great little trick to use! We love you guys so much and miss you!
